HOW WE WORK
What we source content from, how it's reviewed, and how we handle the data you enter into the calculators.
Guides on Wellnessvalue are written to explain mechanisms and reasoning, not to sell a single fixed protocol. Where evidence is mixed or still developing, we say so, rather than presenting one interpretation as settled. Content is reviewed for plain-language accuracy before publishing and revisited periodically as understanding shifts.
We avoid absolute claims ("always," "guaranteed," "cures") in favor of language that reflects how population-level research actually applies to individuals — as context, not a verdict.
Guides are written and edited in-house, drawing on established, widely taught physiology and behavioral-science concepts — the kind covered in introductory exercise science, sleep science, and nutrition coursework. We link out to primary sources where a specific claim benefits from one, and we avoid citing single small studies as if they were consensus.
Each guide passes through a plain-language accuracy check and a claims check — flagging any sentence that overstates certainty or omits an important caveat. Guides are periodically re-read as part of routine maintenance, and updated if a widely accepted understanding shifts.
Calculations run entirely in your browser. Numbers you type into a tool — age, weight, height, sleep times — are used only to compute that tool's result and are not sent to a server or stored by Wellnessvalue. Closing or reloading the page clears them.
No. Wellnessvalue is an educational journal and tracking portal. It does not diagnose conditions, prescribe treatment or medication, or replace a conversation with a qualified healthcare provider — particularly for anything involving an existing diagnosis, medication, or pregnancy.
We collect the minimum needed to answer a question you've asked. Contact-form messages are used only to respond to you. We don't sell personal information, and we avoid presenting sensitive health inferences back to you as if they were conclusions — the tools give ranges and context, not verdicts.
